Located amidst lush green surroundings typical of the villages in the South India Tanjore belt, the Eduthukatti Sathanur village in the Tarangambadi Taluk, Nagapattinam District is known for the Eduthukatti Sathanur Pasikulam Vinayagar Temple.
The Pasikulam Development Trust was set up to run curriculum for preserving the traditional culture of passing on the knowledge from one generation to another generation orally i.e based on the ancient heritage and hereditary system of education codified through hearing and retention by memory under gurukulam mode of such education along with practical aspect thereto which includes Agama Patashala, to study and practice Agama, Vedas, Sanskrit, Jothidam, Shilpa Sastra as well to teach the same to preserve as well to understand the importance for peaceful living by living beings and to do such other object of public utility for the WELFARE of the UNIVERSE.
The ‘Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Agama Patashala’ was inaugurated on July 9, 2022 by Dr.Siva Sri.Bala Sarveswara Sivachariar, Ph.D., Principal, S.S.S.V.Vidya Peetam,Karaikal and with the benign blessings of His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, to provide Vedic and Agama education to the Vidyarthis who are interested in pursuing education of the Agama Sastras and traditional education under the ‘Gurukulam’ system of education.
To set up Agama Patashala and propagating the importance of preserving the traditional culture codified through hearing and retention by memory such system of education
To conduct program and organising events for understanding the various aspects of Vedas / Agama Vedas and related aspects thereto
To publish books, magazines, periodicals, literature, etc., as may be decided from time to time on an educational system as set out
To conduct workshops, seminars etc. for the perseverance, betterment etc., of the system of education and practice of Vedic/Agama Veda chanting as set out
To pay necessary honorarium, institute scholarship, presenting memento, medallion, etc. to the scholars and students who endeavor themselves in improving the educational system as set out.
To propagate and involve in the better utilisation of the system of education with practical aspects thereto
To give free food, clothing and shelter to students who join the curriculum and participants in the conduction of program.
To have dharmasala / choultry/ public-hall with amenities to conduct events/program and social functions.
To create employment opportunities for livelihood by creating infrastructure and village development of Eduthukatti Sathanur.
To establish and support Primary Healthcare
To do such other object of public utility for the welfare of the Universe.
To do all that is necessary, incidental and ancillary to the above objects.
